What NAT type means for gaming
NAT (Network Address Translation) affects whether you can host matches, join friends, and use voice chat on consoles and some PC games. Open NAT is ideal; Strict NAT can block party invites and increase matchmaking time.
How to check NAT type honestly
- •PlayStation: Settings → Network → Connection Status → Test Internet Connection
- •Xbox: Settings → General → Network settings → Test network speed & statistics
- •PC games: Use each game's network diagnostics (varies by title)
